At Gary Brawer Guitar Repair they collect all the strings they remove from guitars they repair for reycling. Seeing them curled around in the box reminded me of the spiral tracks left in cloud chambers by decaying particles.

My reflection in the side of a taco truck, the morning of December 12, 2008.

These strange scalloped wave patterns were seen from the Coast Trail just north of the Palomarin Trailhead at Point Reyes National Seashore.  The picture was taken on July 8, 2009.  They’re visible in Google’s satellite view, too.

These night shots show my friend Eddie Adams playing with an illuminated parasol.  This was at a fabulous campout with a bunch of friends this last weekend.

Last Thursday (August 7) the light in the evening was just incredible.  This shot is taken out my window driving on The Embarcadero.  The Ferry Building is visible on the left in front of the Bay Bridge.

Back in May I saw these fine gentlemen walking along the Powell-Hyde Street line, lifting each removable metal cover over the cable car cable. These covers allow access to the rollers that the cable runs in and these workers were responsible for checking that each roller was in good repair. This picture was taken [...]
