At Gary Brawer Guitar Repair they collect all the strings they remove from guitars they repair for reycling. Seeing them curled around in the box reminded me of the spiral tracks left in cloud chambers by decaying particles.

illuminated parasol

These night shots show my friend Eddie Adams playing with an illuminated parasol.  This was at a fabulous campout with a bunch of friends this last weekend.
The parasol was made by Michael Ang.  Eddie has her own blog.

Use super glue and baking soda to make a tough patch for plastic.

It is mildly irritating that ctrl-w means “paste” in emacs, but it means “close window” in virtually any other application, or in Firefox, “close tab.”
