We had a fun house party, the West Oakland Social Democrat Party, at the physical location of Myrtle Street Labs this last Saturday. Here’s the street cam footage from 7pm until 3am after the party.

an oldie but a goodie

Stored exactly one year ago this day, this sequence of images captured by our streetcam is still one of our favorites. The camera had only been online a week or two when, in the corner of my computer screen at work, I saw her walk by and stop in front of my car.

If you pay attention to the timestamps in the bottom right corner you can see she spends almost 20 seconds fixing her hair in her reflection in my car window.

There was light fog this morning when I rode my bike to BART. It made me think of this picture I took from our roof on the morning of March 19, 2009.

Close up of the giant metal woman sculpture, found on its side behind American Steel, on 20th Street between Poplar and Mandella Parkway. This sculpture appeared earlier in the Art Shadow post. Picture taken August 18, 2009.

I saw the sculpture being loaded on a flatbed truck just this last Tuesday (August 25), presumably on its way to Black Rock City.

Shadow cast by a large metal sculpture of a woman, back in April, 2009. The shadow is cast on the side of the American Steel building.

You may have seen this sculpture on the playa at Burning Man, or at the Fire Arts Festival.

This photo is fromback on January 17, 2009. The rain had dried off the street but the brushes on the street sweeper that just drove by were still wet. Mclymonds High School is in the background.
